Why Choose Plastic Free Dolores and Rose Haircare

Are you wondering what all the hype about shampoo bars is and do you want to keep up with the world and not get left behind then read on….

The haircare world is changing and increasingly more people are turning to plastic free haircare.  We were super proud to be in the first wave of bringing solid haircare to the market leading the way to changing the perspective about hair products.  Back in 2019 very few companies were making solid haircare products and it was considered pioneering, even the concept of using a bar, to most people, was bizarre.  However only a little over 12 months on and the solid haircare market has a wide selection to choose from and even the ‘big boys’ now are waking up and following suit with Garnier Ultimate Blends  (L’Oréal)  launching a range of shampoo bars.

So if you’re not already a convert what are you waiting for?  Read on if you need convincing…

Reduce Environmental Impact

Shampoo, and conditioner, bars help reduce the environmental impact of beauty products as they don’t require plastic bottles. Even going back to 2016 figures, (something that has stuck with me for years), apparently half the bottles bought were collected for recycling and just 7% of those collected were turned into new bottles. That means approximately 93% 0f the 480 billion plastic bottles sold in 2016 ended up in Landfill or in the Ocean.

All Dolores and Rose packaging is FSC certified cardboard which is 100% recyclable most of which is already recycled.  You personally will be helping the reduction of 8 million metric tons in the world that ends up in the ocean (read more at : oceanconservancy.org).  It’s probably one of the simplest things you can do to help reduce plastic pollution.

If that’s not enough and you are still sitting on the fence thinking about it….

Healthy Nourished Hair Without Compromise

We all want to look and feel our best and at Dolores and Rose we don’t believe this has to be compromised in support of the environment.   Our products are designed with 30 years hairdressing experience so we know what hair needs to feel fabulous.  Dolores and Rose shampoo and conditioner bars are made from 100% natural ingredients, vegan and cruelty free, with pure essential oils and organic botanicals giving the gorgeous smells and colours.  They are also free from SLS, parabens, sulphates and perfumes.  And if that’s not enough our bars include ProvitB5 and plant keratin for added strength and nourishment.

There’s also no transitional period (read our blog “Transitional Phase Explained” for more info) with our bars so you can have gorgeous hair from your first wash as they are ph balanced to work in sync with your hair.  Many customers are also surprised about the volume of luxurious lather giving hair a deep clean leaving it feeling light and silky.

Most plastic bottled shampoo contains 70-90% water yet most of us wash our hair in the shower and add water… do we need to use water twice?  Our bars simply include all the fabulous ingredients your hair needs to be strong and healthy you just need to add the water yourself.

The bars last the equivalent of two bottles of shampoo so will last twice as long.

STILL Not Convinced??

Our aim as a brand, first and foremost, is the health of your hair!  We want your hair to feel clean, nourished and strong!  With 30 years hair experience it’s what we are good at.  Our Dolores and Rose shampoo bars are hair specific as one bar cannot suit all hair types so if you’re not sure which is right for you have a look at blog “Which Shampoo Bar is Right For Me?”.

So not only are you being kind to the planet , reducing your plastic consumption, using cruelty free and vegan products,  you CAN simply have fabulous hair.

Beauty journalists all over the world are writing about shampoo and conditioner bars saying they are a game changer!  If you want to find out why just try the bars – you won’t be disappointed.
